Rosemount recycling company’s 2025 “Giving Together” program supports local charities addressing everything from child hunger to services for older adults.
Rosemount, Minn., December 23, 2025: EGA Spectro Alloys, the Midwest’s leading aluminum recycler, today announced it has donated $100,000 to 30 nonprofits and charitable initiatives through its annual Giving Together program. Each holiday season, Spectro employees nominate organizations that strengthen communities, supporting causes from child hunger and veterans’ services to older-adult care and animal welfare.
EGA Spectro Alloys, a fast-growing aluminum recycling operation that has been part of the Rosemount community for more than 50 years, prioritizes being a strong corporate neighbor and investing in organizations that create meaningful impact.
“Giving Together is one of our favorite traditions at Spectro,” said Luke Palen, President of EGA Spectro Alloys. “Our employees care deeply about these causes, and we’re proud to support the organizations doing critical work in our community. On behalf of our entire team, congratulations to our beneficiary organizations, and thank you for the difference you make every day.”
A highlight of Spectro’s 2025 philanthropy is the launch of the EGA Spectro Alloys Scholarship at Dakota County Technical College, also located in Rosemount. The scholarship, an annual award for two students in the Construction and Manufacturing program, represents a $25,000 commitment over five years. Ten students will each receive a $2,500 scholarship through this initiative.

About EGA Spectro Alloys
Aluminum is the world’s greatest recycling success story – and EGA Spectro Alloys is at the heart of it. Located in Rosemount, Minn., EGA Spectro Alloys operates one of the most efficient aluminum recycling plants in the United States. Founded in 1973, Spectro Alloys provides high-quality recycled aluminum alloys to regional die casters and foundries, where they are made into new products for the automotive, power sports, home, turf and snow maintenance, and many other industries. They use recycled aluminum from Spectro to make new products people use every day, from cars and snowmobiles to industrial equipment and home appliances. Recycling at Spectro Alloys involves shredding, sorting and processing aluminum with the most advanced available technology and a highly developed quality management process. Recycling aluminum takes 95 percent less energy than creating new aluminum, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability.
