Introducing Spectro's "Change for Charities" program

EGA Spectro Alloys is excited to roll out our new "Change for Charities" program!

When vehicles reach the end of their life, much of their aluminum is recycled here at EGA Spectro Alloys. During that process, our sorting system sifts out non-aluminum, including the loose change that often hides in cupholders, under seats, and tucked in consoles. Most of the coins are beaten up beyond use, but some of them still count.

We decided to put that surviving change to work for a good cause. Recently, we donated it to Every Meal, a Minnesota nonprofit dedicated to fighting child hunger. Volunteers there spent months carefully sorting through the usable coins, and the result is over $15,000 deposited to help feed kids in need.

It’s amazing to think that loose change from old cars can make such a big impact. We couldn’t be prouder that nickels, dimes and quarters are being put to such great use!
