Welcome to the first edition of the “The Cast,” a new community newsletter about the people and products behind Spectro Alloys. We have a big year ahead, so we hope you will enjoy learning more about our operation and our plans for the future.
Spectro Alloys has been operating in Rosemount for nearly 50 years, but many people don’t know that we play a key role in the sustainable economy. With this new newsletter, we hope to broaden our community’s understanding of aluminum recycling to show how integral aluminum is to our daily lives and emphasize the benefits that come from repurposing it at Spectro Alloys.
Aluminum is infinitely recyclable, and 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in circulation today. As automotive platforms shift to aluminum, we generate more scrap, which can lower the cost of recycled aluminum significantly.

With the shift from ISO 9001:2015 to IATF 16949:2016, the automotive industry saw major changes in quality requirements. Over several months, Spectro Alloys evaluated its QMS to meet these new standards.
