Spectro Alloys celebrates 50 years of aluminum recycling

Founded in 1973, Spectro Alloys has been recycling aluminum in Rosemount, Minnesota for 50 years. This family-owned company has employed thousands of hardworking men and women who have helped make aluminum the world’s greatest recycling success story.

Spectro uses industry leading technology to turn what’s used into what’s new by recycling aluminum for regional die casters and foundries. The recycled material is then made into new products people use every day in the automotive, power sports, home, turf and snow maintenance, and many other industries.

Recycling aluminum prevents millions of tons of carbon dioxide from going into the atmosphere each year. At Spectro Alloys, we live out our purpose, “Recycling for Life,” each day. For the next 50 years, we will continue to meet demand, use fewer resources, create great jobs, contribute to our community, and be a company Minnesotans can be proud of.
